Calgary Community Focus: Savanna Featured ImageIf you’ve been looking for a place to build your new home in Calgary, you know there are a lot of great communities out there. We might be a bit biased, but we believe that there are few communities as great as Savanna.

Set in the northeast part of the city, just inside the Stoney Trail loop, this lovely neighbourhood has a lot to offer.

Learn all the great things about Savanna, then come out for a visit.

Established Neighbourhood

Perhaps the best part about Savanna is that it’s a new area within the Saddle Ridge community. This means you get the benefit of living in an area that’s quite a bit more developed than many other brand new communities.

Sure, there’s some development still going on in the area, but other sections have already been finished, so you won’t have to worry about dealing with construction, at least not for long. The neighbourhood feels settled, so you’ll feel like you can move right in.

Nearby Shopping

Another benefit of being in an established community is the easy access to all the stores you could want. Just a few minutes away, you’ll find a Walmart Supercentre, a Sobey’s, and a Safeway. There’s even the Sanjha Punjab Grocery Store, where you’ll be able to pick those few special ingredients for your meals.

When you need to pick up more than the groceries, look to Deerfoot City (a 15-minute drive from Savanna) or Castleridge Plaza. Either place has additional stores where you’ll be able to get things like clothing, shoes, and gifts.

Check out the video below of Castleridge Plaza to get an idea of the variety of this shopping centre!

Lovely Community Design

Savanna has been designed with your needs in mind. You’ll be able to take walks or bike rides with your family through the quiet streets. There are also green spaces where the kids can roam and burn off some energy.

One of the major highlights of this community is the upcoming Savanna Bazaar. This is a commercial centre that will be right at the heart of the community. Expect to find an open-air market-style place where you can find unique gifts or grab a bite to eat. This centre will be the heart of the neighbourhood and provide a fantastic central hub for all of the residents to enjoy.

Convenient Commute

We’ve already mentioned the convenience of having many stores nearby for shopping, but it’s important to mention the convenience of the commute. Savanna is located close to Stoney Trail, Deerfoot, and Metis Trail, so you’ll find it’s a quick drive to just about anywhere in the city.

For instance, it’s about a 20-25 minute drive to the downtown area, depending on where exactly you need to go. If you work at the airport or take frequent business trips, though, you’ll be happy to know that you can get to the airport in less than 15 minutes.

If you’re interested in driving less, Savanna is a great choice for you. It’s close to three popular LRT stations, so you can easily commute to the city using public transportation. You’ll get there in around 45 minutes, and you’ll be able to use that time to read books, listen to podcasts, or get a bit of work done.

Calgary Community Focus: Savanna School ImageSuperb Schools

If you choose to live in Savanna, you can feel confident that your kids will attend a school that will help them grow socially and emotionally, as well as academically. Many students in Savanna attend the nearby public schools - Hugh A. Bennett School, Saddle Ridge School, Peter Lougheed School, Colonel Macleod, and Nelson Mandela High School. There are also Catholic schools in the area. Among all of these choices, parents can select options for French or Spanish bilingual and immersion schools. It’s a great way to get your child started on a foreign language.

Even better, there are plans to build a brand new elementary and high school close to this community. Your child may even be able to walk to their school once those are finished!

In the Savanna community, you’ll get to choose from a variety of home styles. For instance, zero lot line homes start from the mid-$400,000, and they offer a lot of conveniences.

If you’ve been dreaming about a large family home, this could also be the place for you. The lots are wide enough to allow you to build a large home. For instance, you could get a home that has a full bathroom on the main floor, a first-floor master suite, or a spice kitchen. Come talk to Sergio, our Area Manager for this community, about finding the home of your dreams.

It’s important to find a community that fits your family’s needs, and we think there’s a good chance that Savanna could be perfect for you. Why not come out for a tour today?
